CROSS-CULTURAL TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR FOREIGN NATIONALS PREPARING TO WORK IN INDONESIA

This specialized program is designed to help foreigners, who will start a work assignment in Indonesia, to prepare to live and effectively work in a culturally different context.

Although the Indonesian Language is not always used whilst on assignment overseas, we believe that a basic knowledge cannot hurt and we will introduce participants to the necessary basics of Bahasa Indonesia.

Further, we focus on the understanding of cross-cultural awareness and the process of acculturation into Indonesian culture, which can differ from region to region. Participants will be lead into the appropriate ways of thinking, communicating and behaving and will be provided with the necessary skills that will help develop their ability to operate effectively in another set of culturally defined roles.

Indonesian Cultural Awareness programs aim to give an 'insiders' view of Indonesian culture, learning, experience and history. Indonesian Cultural Awareness is a necessary component of cross-cultural training preparing trainees for working in an Indonesian setting.

The most effective training program designed by CCTA so far is the Indonesian and Islamic Studies Cross-Cultural Immersion Program.
